Oh, how I just love the feeling, when after a long winter you can finally leave those heavy winter boots at home and take your spring shoes out for a spin on the warm and dry asphalt. That is exactly how I felt when I left the theater last Saturday, although asphalt here is far from being warm and still covered in a thick layer of ice. But I guess it's just a normal side effect to a few inspiring hours of photographing and watching the rehearsals of gorgeous ballerinas, that and the fact that I've been walking on my tippy toes for the last week. Anyway these sugary blossoms are going to be dancing in a ballet that premiered last night, retelling the story of 'Beauty and the Beast'. And here's selection of delightful moments that I was able to capture on and offstage. Wonderful choreography by Silas Stubbs and the ever so delicious costumes by Louise Flanagan. Oi kuidas ma armastan seda tunnet kui pärast pikka talve saab esimest korda rasked saapad koju jätta ja selle asemel hoopis oma kevadised kingakesed kuiva asfalti peale mängima viia ja siis ainult hüppakski üle sulavee lompide ja korjaks sinililli. Ja kuigi meil siin on kuiv asfalt veel paksu jääkihi all, siis just sellise tundega lahkusin ma eelmine laupäev Vanemuisest, kui olin veetnud paar inspireerivat tundi proove jälgides ja imekauneid baleriine pildistades. Ja nüüd selles suures kevadootuses ongi teie ees sületäis lilleõisi, keda saab eile Vanemuise suures majas esilinastunud balletis Kaunitar ja Koletis tantsimas näha. Imelisse koreograafiasse on õiekesed sättinud Silas Stubbs ja maitsvad kleidikesed valmistanud Louise Flanagan. Ja nüüd ei jäägi muud üle kui üks muhe kamraad näpu otsa ja teatrisse!
